Every solving method here depends on skills built earlier — factorisation from Class 8 and 9, and the real-number reasoning from this syllabus's own opening chapter. Forcing every equation through factorisation, even when the roots aren't rational, is a common mistake; completing the square or the quadratic formula work universally, factorisation doesn't.
